Step-Back Hutch

full view of hutch built by Welch Millwork and Design

To give you a better idea of the detailing of my work, here are some more detailed pictures of the step-back hutch I made for Darrell and Cathy Auxier of Madison, Indiana.

This step-back hutch is made from solid black cherry, with mortis and tenon joinery to fit the larger panels together; the sides and bottoms of the drawers are made of solid maple and exhibit dovetailed joinery. The doors of the cabinet duplicate the Shaker-style of cabinetry, with raised panels in the back and flat panels in the front. The entire unit is finished off with a hand-rubbed oil finish.
